"Thanks, AMPED for a fantastic conference in the Maldives. As a doctor who works both as a GP and in an emergency department, the multi topic approach to both General Practice topics (such as nutrition and healthy eating) and Emergency Medicine topics (antibiotic use in resistant infections) was valuable. The relaxed and informal atmosphere encouraged discussion, and it was encouraging to meet and learn from doctors in other parts of the world (eg. Germany and South Africa) about their approaches to common presentations. The beautiful location with lots of children friendly activities made it a perfect family holiday as well."
"Each conference might have its own location nuances, but they all have the same feel due to the fantastic cohort of attendees that they attract. Why do they come? Because they are a complete experience. Not only delegates but families and friends want to return for a week where the real world takes a back step and people meet, exchange experiences, thoughts and ideas while relentlessly smiling. [...] This all leads to one thing and that is the opportunity to meet great people. On a professional level, one delegate summed it up: “I have 12 phone numbers that I can call for their expertise and opinion, that wouldn’t be there if I hadn’t come to these conferences”. "I have been in clinical practice for more than 45 years [...] I have lost count of the number of conferences I have attended over the years but for more than twenty years I have been attending at least one AMPED conference every year and wouldn’t miss it. I have found the multidisciplinary format of these meetings to be of enormous value. The calibre of the participants and of the presentations is remarkably high and the broad range of disciplines represented has provided me with insights into areas of health care or research outside of my own area of expertise. I don’t know of any other conference quite like this and I always find the experience enriching and enormously enjoyable. The conferences are well organised, and the venues are excellent. The atmosphere is collegiate and relaxed. I have developed a number of important on-going professional relationships as a result of my participation in AMPED conferences."
